COVID-19 Information

We are open
  • Following advice from Public Health England and the Chief Dental Officer we are open.
  • There are strict guidelines relating to Infection Control and PPE that we must adhere to in order to protect patients, our staff and the wider public.
  • We can safely provide all normal procedures including check ups, hand scaling and polishing, xrays, fillings, dentures and extractions.
  • Some treatments that produce an 'aerosol' or water spray need to be carefully delivered with additional PPE and precautions in place.
  • We also need to control appointments to operate safely and maintain recommended social distancing rules and we would ask for your continued patience and understanding.
  • Thank you all for your ongoing support and if you have any queries or require urgent advice please contact the practice as usual by phone or email.
Appointments only
  • Please only attend the practice if you have a booked appointment that has been confirmed by reception.
  • You should not attend if:
    • You or anyone in your household has Coronavirus or any of the symptoms.
    • You or anyone in your household is waiting for Coronavirus test results.
    • You have been told to self-isolate by 'Track and Trace'.
Coronavirus Symptoms
  • If you suspect you have Coronavirus you should stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days. The symptoms are:
    • A new persistant cough
    • A fever (temperature of 37.8 degress centigrade or higher)
    • Loss of, or altered, taste or smell
  • If someone in your household has Coronavirus you should stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days.
  • If you feel better after self-isolation then you can return to your normal routine.
  • If your condition deteriorates or you have not improved then you should call NHS 111 for advice.
Dental Emergencies
  • We will continue to operate an Emergency Telephone Advice service which is available to all our patients.
  • If you need advice or assistance please call the practice on one of the following numbers:

Risk assessment
  • Protecting your health and safety and that of our staff and families is our absolute priority.
  • A comprehensive, practice wide risk assessment has been carried out and implemented in order to provide you with safe and effective treatment.
  • We are following all relevant advice and guidelines and in particular that from Public Health England, The Chief Dental Officer and The FDGP.

COVID-19 Appointment Protocol

1. Pre-appointment preparation
  • Please plan your journey to the practice well in advance and try to arrive on time. We will carefully schedule appointments to maximise social distancing between patients.
  • You should plan to attend the practice on your own.
  • We may ask you to wait outside the practice or in your car before being called for your appointment (please remember your mobile phone).
  • Before your appointment our receptionist will carry out a COVID screening questionnaire.
  • You should be prepared to make contactless or telephone payments.
  • Please use your own toilet before leaving home for your appointment as ours will be unavailable.
2. Arrival at the Practice
  • Use the alcohol hand gel provided at reception and maintain social distancing of 2m until you are in the surgery.
  • We will normally take you straight through to the surgery. If you have to wait in reception please wear a mask or ask our recptionist who will provide you with one.
  • Please do not use our toilet unless it is an emergency.
3. During your appointment
  • We will be wearing extra Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including masks, surgical scrubs and aprons and we will use extra protection for higher risk procedures.
4. After your appointment
  • Please make your way into reception, use the alcohol hand gel again and maintain 2m social distancing.
  • We will take payment and book further appointments contactlessly.
5. On-going measures
  • We will continue to monitor guidance and act on the most up to date advice.
  • We will ensure the practice is as safe as possible for you and our staff.
  • We will undertake regular staff training in relation to all aspects of COVID-19.
